Tips for Buyers
Get Help: Before you make what could be the largest investment of your life, please make sure you are prepared both financially and emotionally. As your advocate, we will assist in every step of the process to insure that once you are ready, we make the transaction as smooth as possible. There will always be emotional highs and lows during the process, our job is to keep focused on helping you make a successful purchase.
Get pre-approved: Do you already know how much home you can afford? There is nothing more frustrating than looking for a home, finding the perfect home, and then discovering that it is out of your price range. Speak with a lender to learn about the different financing options available to you. When you find the right lender get the paperwork processed so that you will be ready to buy when you find the right home.
Your Needs: Take a step back and look at your lifestyle. Hobbies, passions and needs. Do you like to be close to shopping, beaches, golf courses or away from everything? How does your existing home fit, and what would you change. Do you like to entertain, will people be staying with you now that you live in paradise.
Be Realistic: Just because the news media said you can get any house for half of the asking price, does not make it true. Many people have lost their favorite house by making the seller angry with a “lowball” offer. Sometimes low offers are accepted, but there has to be a justification such as a pending foreclosure or a need to move for a new job. As your advocate we will research each properties comparable sales and negotiate in your best interest always.
Timeline: Understanding the process will help you make the journey toward your purchase. Each transaction is different but all follow a similar path. We will explain each step so you are in control of your destiny.
