More improvements are on the way: In late 2009, the Pleasant Point Property Owners Association bought the community’s golf course and other amenities. The purchase gives the Property Owners Association control of the 18-hole golf course, 8,500 square foot clubhouse, tennis courts and a maintenance facility – and the POA plans to add a community swimming pool soon.
Home prices range from $300,000 upwards, depending on size and location – with marshfront and waterfront views commanding the highest prices. There are about 200 homes built in Pleasant Point and undeveloped homesites are available as well.
Pleasant Point is situated at the northern end of Lady’s Island on the Beaufort River, about 10 minutes from downtown Beaufort and even closer to local grocery stores, restaurants and shopping.
Driving onto Pleasant Point is a relaxing treat as you wind along scenic saltwater marsh and beneath hundred-year-old live oaks swaddled in Spanish moss. Homes are nicely spaced and landscaping is highly valued with an emphasis on indigenous plants such as azaleas, redbuds, crape myrtles and oaks.
The streets are perfect for bike rides, walks and jogs. This is an active community of numerous ages, from young families to retirees, all enjoying the best of Lowcountry life.
